5. Natural History Museum and Marina
The newly renovated Natural History Museum is a prominent landmark
on the Bay visible everywhere but the front harbor. Its sits atop
White Point and represents the general beginning of the estuary.
The 2.5-mile roundtrip from our dock can be easily done in 1 to 1.5
hours but you should allow more time to explore the museum or have
lunch at the Bayside Café. The museum has lots of great displays
detailing the flora and fauna of the area and a great gift and
bookstore. The view from atop the point is spectacular and there
are several nice walking paths throughout the area. The adjacent
State Park Marina provides a nice gravel landing area, restrooms
and picnic tables. The marina is a fun place to paddle around
and enjoy taking in the wide variety of sailboats moored here.
